1What we do not collect
You do not make an account. We do not ask for your name, email, contacts, photos or location. Your birth year stays on your device, and your age is never sent to our analytics, measurement or purchase partners.
2Game statistics
For adults, to make the game better we record how it is played: levels started and finished, cuts, hints, time played, settings changes, your device type, operating system, app version and country. These are linked to a random ID made on your device, not to your name. We use Mixpanel to store and study them. You can turn this off in Settings under "Share usage stats". In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland we collect them only if you agree, and in Canada only after you tap "Turn on". We never collect them from anyone under 18.
3Ads
The game shows ads through Google AdMob. Google may collect your device’s advertising ID, IP address and information about the ads you see and tap, to show ads and measure them. On iPhone, adults are asked whether to allow tracking, and you can change that any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. In Europe the game asks for your consent first, and you can change it in the game’s Settings under "Ad choices". In the US you can opt out in "Your privacy choices". Ads between levels appear only after level 12.
4Purchases
Purchases are handled by Apple or Google, and Restore purchases asks them for what you bought. We do not receive your payment details. Hints are saved on your device. For adults outside Europe (on iPhone, only after you allow tracking), Tenjin also receives each purchase’s product, price and currency and passes them to Meta to measure our ads. A US opt-out stops this.
5Measuring our own ads
For adults outside Europe (in Canada, only after you tap "Turn on"), we use Tenjin to learn which ads lead to installs and play. Tenjin may receive your device’s advertising ID if you allow it, your IP address, device details and game milestones, and it may share results with the ad networks we advertise on, such as Meta.
6Players under 13 (children)
Glowpane is made for players aged 13 and over. If a child under 13 plays anyway, the game switches on child protections. We never track children and never collect play statistics from them.
For players identified as under 13 in the US, Japan, Turkey, India and Australia, Google receives the phone’s IP address and device information only to show G-rated ads that are not based on the child’s activity, to limit how often ads appear and to stop fraud. Google’s child setting turns off personalised ads and stops the advertising ID being sent, so the information is not used to build a profile or contact the child. In the US, Google acts as our service provider under restricted data processing. Only ads the child chooses to watch for a reward are shown.
Elsewhere, children see no ads. We collect nothing else from children except an optional Report an ad message (a preset reason and the ad’s ID, sent through PostHog with IP addresses discarded), which we delete after 90 days. Children’s purchases go only through Apple or Google.
If you believe a child’s information was collected by mistake, write to support@asteriskai.net and we will delete it.
7European teens
If you are 13 to 17 in Europe and old enough in your country to agree yourself, you see ads only if you agree, and they are never based on your past activity. If you are younger than that age, you see no ads. You can change your choice in Settings > Ad choices. If you say no, you can still get free hints.
8US and Canadian teens
If you are 13 to 17 in the US, or 14 to 17 in Canada, you see ads only after you tap "Allow ads", and they are never based on your past activity. In the US, Google acts under restricted data processing. In Canada, allowing ads also turns on ads between levels. You can switch ads off any time in Settings under "Ads for hints". Saying no keeps your free hints.
9If you say no to ads in Europe
You see no ads, and you get a small ration of free hints. You can change your choice any time in Settings > Ad choices. We will ask once more after 6 months.
10How long we keep data
Game statistics are kept for up to 2 years. Report an ad messages are kept for 90 days. Partners keep data under their own policies.
11Your rights
You can ask us to delete the data linked to your random game ID or ask what we hold, by writing to support@asteriskai.net. Deleting the app removes the random ID from your device; a new install starts a new ID.
12Changes and contact
If we change this policy we will update the date above. Questions: support@asteriskai.net.
